Colin Willcock enlisted on the 5th March 1917 in Claremont, Tasmania. He was employed as a farmer, and stated his next of kin as his sister, Edith Gardiner, of Cambridge, England. Five feet six and three quarter inches tall, he weighed 140 pounds, had a dark complexion, brown eyes and light brown hair, and belonged to the Church of England. He had a broken nose, a mole under his right nostril and two moles on his back.
